Nightingale Private Duty Nursing was founded in 1998 with ten employees. Since then, we have grown to a caring team of over two hundred. In 2008 Nightingale joined the VNA team. This completed the continuum of care services the VNA is able to provide clients. This winning combination of services provides individuals help at home when families need it most. Our service area includes Florida’s Indian River and St. Lucie Counties.
Frequently Asked Questions
Am I obligated to a certain length of service time by contract?
No. We provide services on a per diem basis, meaning you may use us for as long as you need us. Our scheduling is flexible and can be adjusted to your needs—morning, afternoon, evening and all-night hours are available seven days each week. We also offer 24-hour live-in care, if appropriate.
How does Nightingale ensure that my caregiver is trustworthy enough to come into my home?
We perform criminal background checks on all associates. In addition, all of our caregivers are covered with workers compensation and liability insurance.
Are Nightingale services covered by Medicare?
No, private duty services are generally paid for by the client, other family members and trust funds. Some long term care insurance policies also cover these services.
How can I start private duty care for a loved one or myself?
Simply call our office and our Patient Care Manager will listen to your specific needs. She will then offer several alternatives for your consideration. If you prefer, we also welcome you to stop by our office, or contact us and request that a nurse visit you at home for a free consultation.
