HHA
Home Health Aide
|
HHAs are a very specialized and important group of people who care for the ill, elderly, or convalescent within the comfort of their homes. The Home Health Aide provides skills with "hands-on" abilities such as bathing, feeding, keeping a clean environment within the home, assisting with medications and exercises, shopping for food, and planning meals for the client. HHAs can take vital signs (temperature, pulse, and blood pressure), and help with lifting and transferring the client.

LPN
Licensed Practical Nurse
|
LPN's are Licensed Practical Nurses, who receive approx. one year of training in comparison to a Registered Nurse, whose
education might range from two to four years. An LPN can perform almost any routine nursing service needed in the home including pillbox fills, wound care, gastric tube feedings, catheter care, etc.. LPN's are not permitted to provide supervision of staff or case management responsibilities. Our LPN's do daily client visits and hourly shift work. LPN's are licensed by the State of Florida.

RN
Registered Nurse
|
Registered Nurses have undergone extended training receiving either an Associate/s or Bachelor's degree and can perform supervision and management responsibilities in addition to regular nursing services.
The supervision duties would include employee supervision, narcotic/medication supervision, and case management services. Our office RN supervisors admit and discharge clients, manage the client's overall care, and supervise our employees on each case. Our field staff RN's perform regular nursing services either during a daily visit or hourly in shifts. RN's are licensed by the State of Florida.

Live-In (HHA)
|
Just as the term implies, a live-in home health aide who actually "lives in" with the client. This means the aide stays with the client for days at a time, sometimes for weeks at a time, depending on how many days off are requested by the individual employee . It is required that the aide have separate sleeping and bathing rooms. The aide must also be afforded at least eight hours of sleep each evening. If the client needs constant service through the night hours, an additional hourly aide would be needed for the eight hours the live-in is sleeping. This service works well when a client needs someone in the house 24 hours a day, but does sleep safely at night. Live-ins provide continuity of care because there are no eight or twelve hour shifts with numerous caregivers in the home. If a client needs intense hourly care, however, an shift employee is more suitable, as they remain fresh.
